Hello, it’s Neil from Clever Property Investing. You know, you see on Facebook and on social media all the time people saying get investing in property and it’ll give you your freedom, your financial freedom, it’ll give you your time back. And you don’t really know how that works or how that actually happens. And real life examples of that.
Now as a property investor, I am financially free. I’m also a coach and mentor and I have written a book. I’m the author of The book on UK property. So there’s four things that’s happened in the last month that give a simple example of how I’ve been able to do whatever I need to do to help other people.
Number 1. My neighbour had a horrible accident which incapacitated her. And so I’ve been able to help her do things in the house. And also she has a little dog.
I Take the dog for a walk and just help her in general with the things that she needs doing when she needs it. Because obviously it’s not a case of I can only do this at a time that suits me . I can do them when she needs them.
Number 2, is that my son contacted me and said that his daughter, my granddaughter’s teacher at nursery, has gone off sick and so they can’t send her to nursery, which causes all sorts of problems for them and work. So we said, yeah, we could have my granddaughter for a few days and look after her , and keep her occupied. And rightly or wrongly, I thought having a 2 year old would be easy. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a 2 year old around the house! I thought I could do a bit of work and make phone calls in between. But how wrong was I? This little 2 year old demands your attention constantly. She wants you to do games with her. She wants to play puzzles, she wants to read, she wants to go and explore the world and go to do various activities.
That really surprised me, but it meant I had the time. I could do it for her. And rightly or wrongly, I thought when she had a nap I’d be able to do some more work. But you know, when she had a nap, I found that we were just sitting down and collapsing and having a cup of tea.
Number 3. That’s happened this month is that my son also moved home. So he had lots of things that he needed help with, like building his bed, building his furniture, moving things around, helping him get the house organised, putting things up. And all of that was time that I could do while he was at work or they were working and I could go and do that for them and help them out in that way.
Number 4. The fourth thing that happened is that my, very, very close friend of mine went into hospital by ambulance and was in hospital for two or three days before anybody knew anything about it. Because she’s that kind of a person, she doesn’t always reach out and ask for help.
I found out about it and I went up to visit her, took her some clothes and some things to do,some books and some magazines and some puzzles and sat with her a few times. She was in the hospital for about four or five days and I went up each day just to keep her spirits up, cheer her up and talk to her. She wasn’t seeing anybody during that time. And then I brought her home from hospital so that she could be back home when she was ready and cleared from the hospital.
So those are examples, real life examples about my last month and how investing in property, having that financial freedom, I can do these kind of things and
not have to ask my boss for time off,
not have to worry if I’m not going to get paid because I’m self-employed, for example,
This is a typical example of the freedom that property gives you, property investing done correctly. If you want to learn more, get in touch.
